Twenty-five legendary Latin baseball players will be the first-ever inductees into the new Latino Baseball Hall of Fame at a ceremony on May 29, 2010 at the Casa de Campo resort’s Altos de Chavon amphitheatre in Santo Domingo, D.R. The inductees are Roberto Clemente, Orlando Cepeda, Pancho Coimbre and Roberto Alomar (Puerto Rico); Juan Marichal, Tetelo Vargas and Felipe Alou (Dominican Republic); Atanasio “Tony” Pérez, Martín Dihigo, Jose de la Caridad Méndez, Cristóbal Torriente, Alejandro Pompez, Rafael “Felo” Ramirez, Orestes Miñoso, Camilo Pascual, and Bobby Maduro (Cuba); Beto Ávila and Hector Espino (Mexico); Luis Aparicio, David Concepción and Alfonso Carrasquel (Venezuela); Rod Carew (Panama); Eloy “Buck” Canel (Argentina); Jaime Jarrin (Ecuador); and Peter O’Malley (Tom Lasorda Award for an outstanding non-Latino personality).
